Stellar service and food. The wine selection is wonderful whatever your range is. Always busy and there is a reason for that. I had a locally (Iowa)farmed ribeye--I think it was Majinola--American Kobe--very juicy and flavorfull. Will go back everytime we visit Okoboji!

High prices and small portions!! I had the Carpese salad which consisted of a quarter of a tomato, one small slice of fresh mozzerella cheese and a few basil leaves for nine dollars!! I ordered the sea bass special and the portion was smaller than an appetizer. The owner was in the restaurant and is very crabby. We will not go back.

Just made our reservation for opening night at Okoboji‘s premier fine dining spot---can‘t wait!!

Less than a month before Maxwells opens!! My wife and I are counting down. The food and wine and service are always top notch. This is not your in and out in 20 mins. But in my opinion, watching the sun set from my table merits a relaxing evening out. I would not want to be served in ten minutes flat. ENJOY your meal!

The undisputed place to dine! High quality food, great menu and Julie and Lewis are simply the best.
Some reviewers complain service is slow. The place is popular because the food is so good - so if you have to make sure service is johnny on the spot - make a early reservation. If you‘re going on July 4th, expect to wait because the place is going to be packed.

And if it is, so what, it‘s worth it.

We come here every year for our anniversary - my husband loves the prime rib! Can‘t beat the location and the food is always great! I like that they have a simple patio menu, as well as more classy items like salmon and the prime rib. Love it!

We ate on the Ouside patio on the fourth of July and watched the fireworks from out table, it was awesome!! Food was very well prepared, the servers were very busy, so not the fastest meal in the world. On the other hand who could have asked for a better frouth weekend so who cares if it was a bit slow. Listened to the bad playing next to us in the park. Everything was great--- a night to remember!!!

Had dinner there last night for the first time and loved it. We are from a larger city and did not think we could find anyplace that reached beyond family dining in the middle of Iowa, but were pleasantly surprised. Food and wine was well thought out and served in a busy exciting atmosphere and lovely view.

A party of four of us had dinner there last weekend and it was great!! Great food, well thought out wine list and excellent service. Next time we will know to call ahead for a window table.

Can‘t wait, have reservations for both Friday and Sat of opening weekend. Expect a great time as always!!

I wish they were open year round!! Alsways great service, inventive interesting food. A bit pricey but worth the money. Consistently high qualiity, unlike the very hit and miss food and service at other Boji supposed hot spots.

Very friendly staff that know their stuff. We only come a couple of times a summer but when we walk in they remember our names. Our server was very good and he even remembered what we drink. Food always good. Best prime rib I have ever had.

We ate here on Labor Day weekend, the place was packed but the service and food still good. By the crowds, this is obviously the place to go in Boji. I had a blue cheese poached pear salad on Spin greens that was great, as was the rest of the meal.!!!

We went Saturday and listened to the Blues fest at the park and had a great meal. The place was packed, so it is obvious that this is consistently a great place to dine in Okoboji. Will go back

The food was good but for the atmosphere of the restaurant I felt it was a little overpriced.

We ate here a few weeks ago for the first time after walking by it many times and wondering what it was like. Now we know and doubt if we‘ll return again. The wait staff was not very attentive- slow to refill drinks, never came back to check on us after food was served until ready to give us the check. The food was average except for the salad which was awful- iceberg lettuce drowning in an unusually thick balsamic viniagrette dressing. We will stick to our favorites from now on- Geppetto‘s and Newman‘s Bistro!

Continental cuisine? Which continent? Not a good experience

Over-priced, noisy and service was poor. Felt like a sardine in a can.

Last night five of us went to Maxwells without a reservation and did have to sit at the bar, but since the place was compeltely full, we happily enjoyed our drinks and were seated within 10-15 mins or so. Our sever was very nice, efficient, funny and knew what she was doing. We had appetizers which were quick, flavorful and very pretty to look at. Several of us were in the mood for surf and turf and asked if we could add lobster tails to our steaks which was no problem. I am very particular about lobster and she knew it was cold water, South African lobster from Tristan, I was very impressed. She was very helpful with wine. The meal was expensive, but I did not expect less for lobster and filet. One of our party had the Pork chop with brie crepes, and a rasberry suace that was also fantastic. Great night, and will go there every time I get to Okoboji!!!!!

This seems to be the place that the summer locals go, and it was worth the price, I had a great special salad and the seabass was to die for.

The food, service, wine list and views were great and we could dock right outside. Our table was a little late in being seated but we enjoyed the atmosphere while at the bar.

Great food, wine, service, and view. Indoor and outdoor seating with boat access. The only thying I can say is get some nicer flatwear. If that is the only bad thing to say ---it‘s a great dinner out!!

For a small town in Iowa that is only open during the summer, this place has a great menu and well thought out wine list. The service is very polished even though much of the staff is young. They have obviously trained them well. It does cost more than the taco house, but for a great night out that compares with large city dining and a spectacular view of the lake, Maxwell‘s is IT hands down, and you can boat right to it. Don‘t bother with the other places.

Good food but over priced, make sure you listen carefully when they say "The featured item is: (usually Salmon) as they are not saying special. The price for the Feature Item was over $30.00. Fish & Chips on lunch menu is great!

Choose this place over Gepetto‘s or Crescent Beach!!!

I‘ve never had a bad meal here. Their beef is top quality. Their seafood is fresh and prepared well. Sushi night is a treat. Exciting atmosphere right at the pier in Arnolds Park.

The food and service are really great here. A bit expensive, but worth it.
