Nature Area - Bike Trail
The Iowa Great Lakes Trail is a paved 14 mile trail running through the area. A few sections of the trail require riding on city streets but the majority of the trail is seperate and in an area away from other roads since the trail was built over an old railroad. There are several long bridges on the trail crossing the lakes, and many areas on the trail with benches, picnic tables, and restrooms. The trail is open year round and all hours.

The person under mine needs to work on their facts! There is more than 1 bridge. They must ride the same section over and over it sounds like. It‘s a great trail!

I know this trail does not have several long bridges over the lakes. In fact, it only has 1 bridge. It is not well maintained the entire length. It has several areas in the spring that there are low hanging branches over the trail, and that makes it difficult to ride. Part of the trail is right next to a heavily trafific area that makes it not the best to ride on.

Best trails around. Mix of shaded forest, suburbia, city, and the lake. One of the best parts is the bridge between lower gar and miniwashka.
